Assumption of Risk & Liability Release

Sixth Day Training · Effective September 3, 2026

Every participant, or the parent or guardian of a participant under 18, signs an Assumption of Risk & Liability Release before training with Sixth Day Training. The first session is covered by a shorter first-session waiver; continuing clients sign the full release, which covers every future session.

This page is a reference copy of what that release says so you can read it before you sign, or check it later. The signed document is the one that governs.

What you are acknowledging

  • Athletic training, strength and conditioning, speed training, and related physical activity carry an inherent risk of injury, including muscle strains, sprains, fractures, and other physical injury. No amount of instruction, supervision, or care can eliminate that risk entirely.
  • You are choosing to participate, or choosing to allow your minor athlete to participate, voluntarily, for as long as you continue purchasing sessions.
  • The participant is physically able to take part and, apart from anything disclosed on the form, has no known medical condition that makes participation unsafe, or has been cleared by a physician.

Medical disclosure and emergency contact

The release asks for any known medical conditions, prior injuries, allergies, or medications the coaching staff should know about, and for an emergency contact. Because the release covers training over time, you also agree to tell the coaching staff about any new injury, condition, or physician restriction that comes up after signing, before it would affect a scheduled session.

Concussion and head injury

Athletic activity carries a risk of concussion and other head injury. If the coaching staff suspects a participant has sustained a head injury, the participant is removed from activity for the rest of that session and does not return to training until cleared by a licensed healthcare provider.

Emergency medical authorization

If a participant is injured or becomes ill during a session and you cannot be reached promptly, you authorize Sixth Day Training's coaching staff to seek and consent to emergency medical treatment on the participant's behalf. You are responsible for any resulting medical costs.

Release of liability

You release, waive, and discharge Sixth Day Training and its coaches and staff from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action arising out of ordinary negligence in connection with participation in training sessions, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This release does not apply to injury caused by gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sixth Day Training and its coaches and staff from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of the participant's own conduct during training sessions, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Duration

The release stays in effect for all future training sessions with Sixth Day Training unless withdrawn in writing or replaced by a later signed version. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. It is governed by California law.

Signing for a minor

A parent or legal guardian signs on behalf of a participant under 18 and confirms they have full authority to do so. The parent or guardian remains responsible for the athlete outside of scheduled session time, including drop-off, pick-up, and any waiting before or after a session.
